How it works

ESD flooring typically consists of a durable epoxy floor coating with dissipative elements added into it.

Traditional flooring materials can actually build up charges as workers walk across them, but anti-static floor coatings are designed to prevent electrical buildup. And when a static discharge is released, ESD flooring minimizes its destructive potential by spreading the shock over a larger area.

Combined with other precautions such as rubber mats, special employee shoes and a grounding system, an anti-static flooring system can help protect your electronic investment.

The process matters

In order to make sure the anti-static coating functions properly, it’s important to make sure the existing concrete floor has been properly cleaned and prepared before the coating is applied. There’s a lot riding on the protection your ESD flooring provides, so don’t let your installer set you up for failure!
